IKEA Christmas Swedish Buffet

On December 9th (Friday) All IKEA’s will be having a

Swedish Christmas Julbord Celebration!!!

What exactly is this event?  All IKEA’s will be serving a multitude of holiday favories from smoked salmon to swedish meatballs.  It’s an all you can eat buffet and tickets are $9.99 for adults and $2.49 for kids under 12.  Don’t miss out on this fantastic feast.

Licorice Flix Opening!

While LA is a movie town, characters from the big screen have never been immortalized quite like this! Artist JASON MECIER has chosen some of his favorite icons from the silver screen, creating large-scale portraits made exclusively out of Red Vines! Yes, that’s right! Every piece of art hanging on the walls of the gallery is an edible movie mosaic, comprised entirely of that favorite theatre snack. Gourmet Food Truck Festival

Date– Saturday, August 20, 2011
Hours– Noon to 6:00 p.m., Gates open at Noon
Location– Seaside Concert area, West of grandstand.
Admission: Free admission to the Food Truck area with paid racetrack admission of $6 for adults. Children under 18 are free.
Bring your appetite on Saturday, August 20, as some of the tastiest food on wheels comes to Del Mar. It’s the first annual Gourmet Food Truck Festival. Enjoy a variety of some of the hottest eats in Southern California as 40 gourmet food trucks with real chefs serve their eclectic bests, all in one location, from noon to 6:00 p.m. Free admission to the Food Truck area with paid racetrack admission of $6 for adults. Children under 18 are free.

San Diego International Beer Festival


Mark your calendars for the fifth annual San Diego International Beer Festival, which will happen during the 2011 San Diego County Fair on June 24-26.

In just five short years, the San Diego International Beer Festival has become one of the largest in the country, with more than 150 breweries and 350 beers from around the world. In 2010, 15 states and 22 countries participated in the festival.

Time: Friday, 5:00-9:00PM;
Saturday (two sessions), 11:00AM-3:00PM or 4:00-8:00PM
Sunday, 1:00-5:00PM

Prices: $45.00 per session, including Fair admission
$32.00 per session, without Fair admission (for those with Fair season passes, for instance), available at the beer festival entrance
These prices include a souvenir tasting cup and a wristband that entitles the wearer to unlimited one-ounce samplings of beer entered in the festival competition. You must be 21 or older to purchase wristband vouchers.
Where to buy tickets: Tickets are on sale at the Fairgrounds Box Office, located on the north side of the Main Parking Lot. Attack of the Food Trucks!

On June 19th, San Diego will play host to a Food Truck festival with a variety of fare from Indian food to Italian gelato.   There will be more than 35 food trucks participating in this event.  It will be located at Liberty Station in downtown San Diego, 3 miles from the gaslamp quarter.  Admission is $10/ person .  The event will run from noon to 6pm. 

Food will typically cost anywhere from $3 to $8 dollars for decent sized portions.  A great event for the whole family.
